Marvin Gaye - What's going on - czyli wielki klasyk z 1971 roku i właściwie jedyna plyta z gatunku soul która tak bardzo zapadła mi w pamięć. Chociaż określenie "soul" jest tutaj dośc mylące bo mamy na tym albumie całą paletę barw i kolorów - dzieje się w tej muzyce bardzo dużo- slychać intrumenty absolutnie do klasycznego soulu nie przystające: flety, harfę i nawet (uwaga) mellotron. A pod względem tekstowym to koncept album opowiadający o narkotykach ubóstwie i przede wszystkim o Wojnie w Wietnamie. Zna ktos?

na tej płycie najbardziej lubię ponad 15 minutowe nagranie Frankie Teardrop- tam to się dopiero dzieje :)
