This"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a name=\"1\"><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Unrehearsed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Time for the unrehearsed entrance,<br \/>\nshow a leg you can break,<br \/>\ndown the cocktail<br \/>\nwhile it&#8217;s laughing at you for heaven&#8217;s sake&#8230;.<br \/>\nI can&#8217;t be your protector<br \/>\nfrom these deliberate mistakes.<\/p>\n<p>Between the &#8222;can&#8217;t&#8221; and the &#8222;maybe&#8221;<br \/>\na lifetime&#8217;s hovering in the wings:<br \/>\ngrasp the nettle, bite the bullet<br \/>\npush your own buttons and pull your own strings.<br \/>\nName your poison<br \/>\nwhile you&#8217;ve got the power, 100 proof.<br \/>\nI can&#8217;t be your protector<br \/>\nfrom self-neglect or abuse.<br \/>\nThis is not a rehearsal<br \/>\nand fear is not an excuse.<\/p>\n<p>And if you won&#8217;t step out on the boards<br \/>\nyou&#8217;ll find your place already on the shelf &#8211;<br \/>\nyou can only find the sum of your parts yourself.<\/p>\n<p>Unprepared and unready,<br \/>\nis that an excuse or a point of view?<br \/>\nYou can block out the words in anagrammatical sword play<br \/>\nbut it&#8217;s your own life you&#8217;ll be running through.<br \/>\nTime to drink a cocktail<br \/>\nof your own invention for pity&#8217;s sake<br \/>\nI can&#8217;t be your protector,<br \/>\nI won&#8217;t be there when you wake<br \/>\nto honour all the hidden intentions<br \/>\nin your deliberate mistakes,<br \/>\nbehind your deliberate mistakes.<\/p>\n<p>Deliberation could be mistaken for coldness of the heart;<br \/>\nProcrastination won&#8217;t get you anywhere except aloof and apart;<br \/>\nwhat&#8217;s the golden opportunity<br \/>\nyou&#8217;re hanging on here for &#8211;<br \/>\nisn&#8217;t it just this?<br \/>\nGo! Start!<\/p>\n<p>Unrehearsed and unready<br \/>\nthat&#8217;s what we are,<br \/>\nwhat we&#8217;ve all been cast into&#8230;.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s not four square, the beat&#8217;s unsteady<br \/>\nbut this is this<br \/>\nand making something of it&#8217;s up to you.<\/p>\n<p>An unexpected exit&#8217;s always waiting<br \/>\nalthough you think it&#8217;s something you&#8217;ll bluff your way through.<br \/>\nSpit that wooden spoon out of your mouth<br \/>\nand eat up &#8211; the moment&#8217;s long overdue.<br \/>\nTake your medicine<br \/>\nand face whatever the future brings<br \/>\nI can&#8217;t be your protector,<br \/>\ncan&#8217;t keep you under my wing.<br \/>\nThis is not a rehearsal,<br \/>\nthis is the real thing,<br \/>\nthis is the real thing.<br \/>\nThis is for real.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"2\"><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Stupid<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m<br \/>\n(so stupid)<\/p>\n<p>Along this pilgrim&#8217;s accidental progress<br \/>\nI&#8217;d bump into the walls as like as not:<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s no surprise I didn&#8217;t notice when I lost the plot.<\/p>\n<p>I went and did something<br \/>\n(so stupid, so dumb)<\/p>\n<p>Error-message ever more intensive,<br \/>\nred lights were burning on the air &#8211;<br \/>\nno I can&#8217;t say that I was consequentially unaware<\/p>\n<p>when I did something<br \/>\n(so stupid, so dumb)<br \/>\nI saw it coming<br \/>\n(so stupid)<br \/>\nnow all I want to know is how come<br \/>\n(how come?)<br \/>\nwe&#8217;re all fingers and thumbs?<\/p>\n<p>Confused but not entirely aimless,<br \/>\nthough you might find comfort here is faint:<br \/>\nif we lived lives that were quite blameless then we&#8217;d all be saints:<br \/>\nI don&#8217;t think so.<\/p>\n<p>Get a life:<br \/>\nyou&#8217;ve got to do something<br \/>\n(so stupid)<br \/>\nwe all do something<br \/>\n(so dumb)<br \/>\nself-seed our own destruction<br \/>\nnobody understands it, how come we&#8217;re all fingers and thumbs?<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"3\"><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Since the Kids<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It was simple, we were man and wife;<br \/>\nsomething happened to change everything in life<br \/>\nand made us feel small but we were giants nonetheless<br \/>\nand here we are all in the family portrait.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been sliding in a 2.4-wheel skid:<br \/>\nsomething happened to me and since the kids<br \/>\nall time&#8217;s gone awry, direction&#8217;s askew&#8230;<br \/>\nI never thought that I<br \/>\nwould ever feel so used up.<\/p>\n<p>The sense of wonder, the note of panic, demands you just can&#8217;t ignore<br \/>\nnothing prepares you to be a parent,<br \/>\nlooking to join the strands of the broken chord.<\/p>\n<p>What you wanted, what I couldn&#8217;t give&#8230;<br \/>\nsomething happened to us &#8211; oh, but since the kids<br \/>\ninherit the earth<br \/>\nwe had to plough and drill the field,<br \/>\nnurture the shoots with our hopes and fears,<br \/>\nnever wonder about the future yield.<\/p>\n<p>(Never wonder, never wonder, this is real)<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been thinking about all we did,<br \/>\nmuch mistaken but anyway, since the kids<br \/>\nare now almost grown with the future in their own hands<br \/>\nwhat&#8217;s done is done &#8211; there&#8217;ll be no unmaking our half-baked plans.<\/p>\n<p>Here comes the gold watch, I&#8217;ll take the pension, I want the lifetime award;<br \/>\nall for the best, with the best of intentions, the children are their own reward&#8230;.<br \/>\nSince the kids,<br \/>\nsince the kids,<br \/>\nsince the kids<br \/>\nmended the broken chord.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"4\"><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Nightman<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the dead of night, I woke<br \/>\nwith the sense that my dreams were escaping,<br \/>\nall uncannily unspoken<br \/>\nlike words at the tip of a foreign tongue&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>As for language, I have none<br \/>\nto express quite what strangeness overwhelms me:<br \/>\nsomething&#8217;s changed and something tells me<br \/>\nto be still in the roar of the distant stars.<br \/>\nThe night&#8217;s full of fire, ice and water;<br \/>\nby day I&#8217;ll have clay in my hands.<\/p>\n<p>The book is open at a well-thumbed mark<br \/>\nthe odds are stacked that I&#8217;m facing.<br \/>\nEyes grown accustomed to light and dark<br \/>\ncan&#8217;t catch the shadows they&#8217;re chasing.<br \/>\nOpen, my heart, to the vital spark &#8211;<br \/>\na disordered rhythm is racing,<br \/>\nit&#8217;s a danse macabre I&#8217;m tracing.<\/p>\n<p>As the fire feeds the flame,<br \/>\nas the tongue finds expression in its flickering,<br \/>\ndoes each breath inform a name<br \/>\nto be dispersed just as soon as it&#8217;s exhaled?<br \/>\nWas it to myself I came<br \/>\nor to some other strange and parallel existence?<br \/>\nWill I ever see tomorrow,<br \/>\nto wake and begin it again?<\/p>\n<p>Open, the book at a well-read page,<br \/>\nhope triumphs over expectation;<br \/>\nopen, the secrets of seer and sage<br \/>\nin awe-inspired anticipation&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>Open, my mind in the body&#8217;s cage,<br \/>\nunchained in consecration;<br \/>\nopen, my eyes, to the wider stage<br \/>\nthe firestorm of liberation &#8211;<br \/>\nthe night in conflagration.<\/p>\n<p>With a shiver down my spine<br \/>\nI come back to the place where I started;<br \/>\nthe sea of consciousness has parted<br \/>\nbut stranded is all that I feel for sure.<br \/>\nAs nightsight declines into darkness<br \/>\nby day there&#8217;ll be clay in my hands.<br \/>\nI may feel the clay in my hands.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"5\"><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Fallen (the City of Night)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Streets half-familiar that I once called home&#8230;<br \/>\nthe breath of phantoms now fogs the light;<br \/>\nthe skin I shuffled strangely outgrown.<br \/>\nFallen, the city of night<\/p>\n<p>Lost geographics of mortar and lime<br \/>\nformed the arena for fight or flight;<br \/>\nall&#8217;s buried under the leafstorm of time,<br \/>\nfallen in the city of night,<br \/>\nfallen the city of night.<\/p>\n<p>All of the fences overblown,<br \/>\nall of the gardens overgrown,<br \/>\nall of the towers overthrown;<br \/>\nall that I knew shall be over,<br \/>\nbecome unkown<br \/>\nin the city of night.<\/p>\n<p>I know that I&#8217;ve been here before,<br \/>\nI know that I&#8217;ve been here before,<br \/>\nbut that was in another lifetime.<\/p>\n<p>What once seemed blessed now feels accursed<br \/>\nwith words the spendthrift burned by candlelight<br \/>\nbut now this miser&#8217;s mouth is pursed:<br \/>\nfallen, the city of night.<\/p>\n<p>I know that I&#8217;ve been here before<br \/>\nbut that was in another lifetime.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"6\"><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Always is Next<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ill met, ill starred, the sweat, the scars,<br \/>\nthe back seat of the car, caught up in the sex,<br \/>\nthe ties that bind, his thoughts, her mind,<br \/>\nwhy something doesn&#8217;t connect&#8230;<br \/>\nthe rush, the drool, his push, her pull,<br \/>\nthe slushy gender pool, survive and protect.<br \/>\nIll met, the lips, the tongues that dart apart<br \/>\nfor whatever&#8217;s next.<\/p>\n<p>Well, now, what then, they count to ten and sense<br \/>\nthe current direct.<br \/>\nThis heat, this burn so sweet, they&#8217;ve learned<br \/>\nthis stuff will never turn out as they expect.<br \/>\nWell then, what now? Again they&#8217;ve found what somehow<br \/>\nstill resurrects:<br \/>\na fit, a freeze, a pretty please,<br \/>\ndrop down upon the knees and&#8230;whatever next<\/p>\n<p>Whatever&#8217;s next, what ever&#8217;s next.<\/p>\n<p>A clenching fist, a wrench, a twisted kiss<br \/>\nwill salvage this wreck.<br \/>\nThe steam, the windows stream and in<br \/>\nthe back seat of the car they never suspect &#8211;<br \/>\nout in the dark the Demiurge Avenger<br \/>\nauto-elect&#8230;.<br \/>\nIll met, the gun is cocked. Though once<br \/>\nthey swore they&#8217;d be forever&#8230;always is next<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"7\"><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>The Light Continent<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All the fields that you&#8217;ve overflown are frozen,<br \/>\nthey flow like glass down the frame in formlessness.<br \/>\nOnly the fragile fluttering of your heart still marks you chosen,<br \/>\nchosen to dare, your face defiant of the featureless.<br \/>\nYour face defies the featureless,<br \/>\nyou&#8217;re facing the featureless.<\/p>\n<p>A horizon of light blurs the boundaries of whiteness<br \/>\nas the distance is shimmered into timeless brightness now.<\/p>\n<p>And the slow flooding tide is begun as it&#8217;s ended &#8211;<br \/>\nthe barometer dropping and the fog descended<br \/>\ndown, down.<\/p>\n<p>In this endless day, at this hour long-appointed,<br \/>\nsubterranean humming and the compass unpointed,<br \/>\nthe compass disjointed, the compass down.<\/p>\n<p>Deep in the core the heart of ice forms,<br \/>\na tempo of life like that of stalagmites,<br \/>\na flood of the frozen,<br \/>\nthe flux of the blood<br \/>\naflame in antarctic white.<\/p>\n<p>Any marks that you made only scratched at the surface<br \/>\nonly retinal image ties you into the circuit now.<\/p>\n<p>In this empty expanse every shadow is shining<br \/>\nthe indifference of nature: your significance tiny now.<br \/>\nDive down.<\/p>\n<p>All the fields &amp;c.<\/p>\n<p>Timeless the day, absorbing every wavelength of the light.<br \/>\nFrozen in place, our footfall on the ice.<br \/>\nWhat have our shadows meant<br \/>\nin the light continent?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#1\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/vdgg.art.pl\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/do-g\u00f3ry.png\" alt=\"Przewi\u0144 stron\u0119 do g\u00f3ry\" width=\"127\" height=\"51\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1372\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Unrehearsed Time for the unrehearsed entrance, show a leg you can break, down the cocktail while it&#8217;s laughing at you for heaven&#8217;s sake&#8230;.
